So I’ve been hard at work on the new SDK and have been developing an application that more or less merges a lot of the functionality of SendSong, SendFile, SendPics, etc. Some features have been ellusive–Apple apparently disabled email attachments from the iPhone–others work well, such as Bonjour file sharing.
Here is the current feature set along with planned areas. Now’s the time to speak up if you’d like to see a feature added or have questions about how the program works. It’s basically a file browser that allows you to walk through the entire UNIX Application tree–wherever Apple’s sandboxing allows, that is–preview, inspect, and share files.

Benzano asked me to put together an application that would accept commands from shell scripts and display the results through SpringBoard. So I put together Billboard. Billboard gets run via SpringBoard and it’s sent commands from postalert via Bonjour messaging.
In the end, it didn’t work under 1.0.2 (needs 1.1.1 and higher) and so it was a dead end for what he needed. But it’s still fairly interesting as a proof of concept if you want to give it a try. You can run postalert on the same iPhone or on another iPhone or iPod touch. Then issue postalert list to receive a list of commands that Billboard accepts.
Both apps are available in the test folder.
