iPocket is a file storage, exploration and sharing tool. Use it to carry around and view your most commonly need documents such as PDF files and audio. With it, you can ftp, email and share your data wirelessly over bonjour. It's perfect for businessmen who want to carry samples in their iPocket and send them out on demand.
iPocket lets you connect to external FTP sites to both download and upload files. You can set up your iPhone as a personal web server to share your data. If both you and a friend run iPocket on the same network, you can beam data to each other using Bonjour file sharing.
iPocket is also a full-featured media browser. It supports text, PDF, images, audio, movies and more.
FAQ
- How do I add files to my iPocket? You can download them from ftp sites, catch them from your Mac (use ShareFile), or copy them from other parts of your iPhone's file system.
- What kinds of data can I view inside the program? At this time, you can view images, sounds, movies, PDF files, text, and property files.
- Can I download files from (arbitrary) websites? Not yet.
- Can I upload files using the local web service? Yes.
- The web server stopped when I quit the program. Apple allows only one application to run at any time. You can only use the web service when iPocket is running.
- Where do I enter information for FTP and email? Right now, in the Settings application in the iPocket settings and in the program for FTP. I'm planning to add this directly to the program as well.
- Why can't I add a new email in the application? Because Apple's initial SDK didn't offer that functionality. It's on my to-do list.
- The Email doesn't work with my account Email support is *very* limited -- SMTPAUTH only, with no SSL.
