The funny thing is, I ran “make it mine” back on my 1.1.3 phone — and the setting has stuck through the 1.1.4 restore, the “early” 2.0 update, and the “real” 2.0 update!
>You must sign the executable
>
>download ldid: apt-get install ldid
>go to the package: cd MakeItMine.app
>sign: ldid -S MakeItMine
Sorry for the n00b question, but do you do these commands on the iPhone itself or on the Mac? What tools do you use?
Thanks.

Hi Erica. I’m trying to keep contact with you but I’m not finding your email ou form contact. So I’m a graphic designer and made a To-Do List icon and would like to know if you want it for free to use in your app. To check send me an email and I send the file for you.
Hey Erica. I was needing to download ldid through cydia on 2.0, but its not on there. Is the source down or the package removed? It seems everyone else has it except me. Is there any way I could get ldid and manually install it through SSH?
Yeah I do “apt-get install ldid” and it gets to
“After unpacking 5964kB of additional disk space will be used.”
Then it stalls and I get a message pop-up
“Error. Host has not answered for more than 15 seconds…”
Which I think comes up because the package isnt in my cydia.
Its’ weird cause when I look up “http://apt.saurik.com/dists/tangelo/main/binary-iphoneos-arm/Packages”
Which is the list of packages from the saurik.list source. It shows that ldid is in there. Why isnt it showing up in my list on cydia then? I havent altered the list or anything like that. Any ideas?
Hi Erica
Great work, what you do:-) That is always my first Program, which I install. I love it
Would it in carrier go, that more than writes 5 letters and after 4th. letters isn´t zeros?
For example: i´ve written: MyPhone and will be shown: MyPh…..
I hope you understand what I say and you can fix it. plz:-)
I used MakeItMine on my iphone with iOS v1. Since then i’ve restored my iphone with iTunes, yet my custom carrier name has always stuck with me.
Recently I upgraded to a 3GS phone and then I restored my settings from my first iPhone… voila the custom carrier name is now on my unjailbroken 3GS phone with the latest software.
Not too interesting up till now… but all this has lead me to believe that it IS possible to change your carrier name on an un-jailbroken iPhone.
One would simply have to back up your phone using iTunes, then find where on the local backup file the carrier name is stored, alter it, then restore the slightly altered backup - and it should in theory be done.
of course, I know nothing about the technical aspects of such stuff… but, what do you think?
Think we will ever see a local OSX version of MakeItMine?
SORRY BUT THIS IS OFF TOPIC::
So I installed “MIM” befor I jailbroke n updated from 3.0 to 3.1 firmware but now when I press reset l the carrier section it’s just blank. Not even the default carrier doesn’t show up. Please help me with this, i don’t wanna fo complete new reset without using the backing up the phone. Pls help!!!!!!

Hmm… doesn’t work on my 2.0 (1st gen) - I’ve set permissions correctly and it drops straight back out as soon as I launch it - any clues?

You must sign the executable
download ldid: apt-get install ldid
go to the package: cd MakeItMine.app
sign: ldid -S MakeItMine

Where did all the TUAW directories and files go? Looking for findme for 2.0, but can’t find it or older versions anywhere. Thanks!
