App Preview: AppFlow

I’ve wavered back and forth recently about what to do about XLaunch. It simply got too big and complicated, so I’m breaking it down into three components: AppFlow offers application launching both from a list and from a coverflow viewpoint. iPocket lets you capture data onto your iPhone and share it out to the world, via Bonjour, FTP, and the WWW. I’m thinking of releasing XLaunch with the complete feature set (launching, badging, file browsing, file sharing) as well, kind of as the Godzilla of iPhone file management. Any thoughts on this?

I think I like the thought of a launcher app doing just that and nothing else. Not sure quite why, but that just feels easier and cleaner to me - a single purpose launcher is one I’d consider as a double-tap on home button option, but I only want it to help me launch things quickly.
So I guess I’d vote for two or three separate apps.

What do you mean for iPocket “capture data onto your iPhone’… what kind of data? from which source? camera? audio recording? can you share data with anyone having a bonjour compatible app?

Erica - Been a fan of all your iPhone work and the hacks that you’ve done since launch. Had a question that I hoped you could help with. I want to record video demonstrations from the iPhone video out. It’s obviously technically possible since Apple does it all the time during demos. Do you know of some hardware (a mod to the iPhone video cable) or software hack that would enable me to record the video signal of what is actually displayed on the iPhone’s screen? Thanks. 123Hints (a) gmail dot com

Please forgive me if this is too OT, but I haven’t been able to locate where best to ask the question. Does the SDK allow for kernel compilation with a few changes to the standard config options? The reason I ask is that with a few tweaks (e.g., turning a few options on), a few key apps could be made to work, namely ipfw and natd, which would allow for much easier/better phone tethering - a really killer app. Right now, this is all done one port at a time in userland with a socks proxy.
Sorry again if too OT. Hope the question makes sense.
Thanks
