i absolutely loved sendsong purely for the emailing songs (to friends overseas). Id love to see that brought to 2.1 somehow. Is the project still going ahead?

Hello

I dont really know if this is the appropriate place, but it seems like a feature for file browser. I also dont know how much thinking has gone into this idea, since the web is fairly limited in terms of shedding light on it. Basically, I was wondering if there is any way to bring printing to the iphone. We all know its not just a phone, so it would be great if PDFs received by mail could be sent to a printer connected to the wireless network. I am not a developer, so I have no clue on the feasibilty of this, but this bloc seems like the only place with the expertise to shed light on this question.

Thanks a lot.

Hi, Erica,
I'm working on something a little bit similar to what you're doing, though more tailored to a specific purpose.

I'm not taking no for an answer on this no-attachments stuff, and going to code it for myself, without the private framework. Are you interested in working with me to get it running?

SMTP is a pretty simple protocol, I'm currently running into issues with encryption on my socket, using the AsyncSocket wrapper, tweaked according to: http://deusty.blogspot.com/2007_03_01_archive.html.

Here's to hoping that Apple will just make the API public, for goodness' sake! I can understand not wanting developers to have access to users email accounts, etc, but still.

Unfortunately, Objective C (and some Objective C++) is the language for iPhone development right now.

Hi erica,
I was just wondering how hard is it to port a java app to work on the iphone. One of my mates has written a java program to run on sony ericsson and symbian phones, but i don't know how you would go about porting it to run on a jailbroken iphone.
Any advice would be appreciated,
Thanks,
Colm.
