Weekend.

It is one of the hardest things in the world to suddenly put down your pen (or keyboard in this case) and stop writing for the week. I just spoke with Addison Wesley and if Apple introduces a beta (or even alpha) SDK , we should be good to go with rough cuts within a week or so of its release. I really hope you like reading this book as much as I am loving writing it.

Hello!
I am one of the many fans of your work on tuaw.com and the iPhone. I have gotten m.yself stuck and really need your help.
I “restored” to 1.1.4 from 1.1.2 (jb’d, not unlocked - I use att) and used ziPhone to get the installer on. Everything was working great until I installed a couple of things (mobile textedit, todolist, and todolist2). My phone crashed and will not boot up. I have the apple and the spinning dashes and that is it. I was able to ssh in and deleted the installed apps that I listed above and at that time it showed up in in iTunes as “phone” and not by the name I gave it. I couldn’t do anything to it from there. I tried restarting it again, and so far iTunes does not see it (apple and spinning dashes, not really spinning). I can still ssh in.
Please help if you can. Thank you very much for your time.
Stephen

Erica - big fan and been reading your site constantly. I’m looking to dive into iPhone development and have been a developer in C, C++, C#, Mac Dev for years. How can I get started using your best practices for development???
Thanks
Todd

Erica,
I guess I just needed to know how to enter “Recovery Mode” (power down phone, connect USB, hold Home button). I’m all set now!
Thanks and have a great weekend!

Hey Erica,
Big fan, and also, I like to think, contributor, to your SDK list.
How you wrote a book for publication so soon without insider knowledge [whilst being a Mom] is impressive.
I assume this is you…
Very much looking forward to your book, I’ll save the congratulations for a couple of weeks

I’d made a link to Erica’s book on Amazon:
‘Taking your iPhone to the Max’
…but it didn’t seem to come through(?)
I’ll try again:

any news on a fix for the “do not change the passwords” problem? your work has been very very helpful to a whole lot of people… thanks for that effort, and for sharing the results with the wider community.

erica, my girlfriend was extremely upset and threw my iphone when I did the unthinkable and looked at during our conversation. Unfortunately I had SSH turned off at the time, and now the touch screen is broken. I was able to sync my photos but there is one voicenote file from the version that worked on 1.1.1 (not the latest).
I sorta know how to use independence and transmit. my iphone is/was bl 3.9 running 1.1.1.
I heard your voice notes go in to the media folder. Is there anyway to access that folder when my SSH was turned OFF by the services app on the iphone side?
I am getting no luck at the forums and thought I would try with you here.
