About 1.1.4

Erica Sadun | 9:37 pm | February 28, 2008 | Admin

If it worked in 1.1.3 it’s going to work in 1.1.4. The changes are miniscule.

1.1.4- my mail app continues to crash everytime I open it. I restored it to factory settings and still no luck. Is anyone else having this problems? Any suggestions on how to fix it?

Hi, unfortunately not all applications are working with 1.1.4:
VoiceNotes (my favorite app as well)… message: ERROR Firmware 1.1.3 is required for this version of “voiceNotes”…
:( what a pity!!!!

That’s an installer issue. It works fine with 114

Guys, to fix the Installer.app, you need 1.1.3 message, try this.

Using WinSCP or CyberDuck, go to /System/Library/CoreServices Inside there, there will be a file called SystemVersion.plist. Copy that to your CPU, then edit it with Notepad or Wordpad to change the 1.1.4 inside to 1.1.3. All you are really doing is tricking Installer so that it thinks you have 1.1.3. Then when you are done installing, you can change it back if you want.

Hi Erica,
I am confused about which software version i have on my iphone. In the version i have 1.0.2. But on the firmware i have 04.04.05_G which is 1.1.4. Please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Comment by joonyah | March 1, 2008 | 12:51 pm

Installed on 1.1.4, works great.

I followed the suggestion of ajl917 by editing
/System/Library/CoreServices/SystemVersion.plist

I opened up a shell connection to my iphone and edited the file in terminal.app on my mac using vi.

Then installed through installer.app, worked like a charm. I am able to record, play, and email.

Hello Joonyah,

Please go into more detail on how to edit /System/Library/CoreServices/SystemVersion.plist

Step by Step would help, If you can!!!

Thanks….

To install apps that asks for the 1.1.3 firmware just add to sources http://repo.ispazio.net and then go to tweaks 1.1.4 and install Compatibility Patch,
now you install all the apps that asks for 1.1.3, on the 1.1.4

Tomas 953,
Thanks for the tip!

And to be frank, it’s been more help than Erica’s reply.

mevistox5: I beg your pardon?

Comment by mevistox5 | March 2, 2008 | 10:18 am

Look at you’re answer on February 29, 2008 | 9:10 am.

But to be honest, I must admit that I might have been a bit to optimistic about Tomas’s reply. What the compability patch does, is fake you’re firmware. When you look t the setting you see that it’s says you’re running 1.1.3 . After installing this tweak there’s no way you can un install this app or install other tweaks for 1.1.4 It’s says you need to run FW 1.1.4

Edit to my last post. It can be uninstalled. Was just a hick up on my iPhone.

Erica,

Will you be releasing Make It Mine for 1.1.4?

Or will we be forced to resort to the Compatibility Tweak as mentioned above?

If you could release one for 1.1.4, you’d make me very happy :)

Comment by webhead | April 1, 2008 | 7:18 pm

hmmm…I can install MIM on 1.1.4, but when I tap to launch it, it opens, then just closes again.

I tried the Tweaks patch, no help.

I’d love this app to work, all your apps rock!!

Comment by Erica Sadun | April 1, 2008 | 7:20 pm

open + pause + close means you didn’t make it executable.

You need to do a chmod 755 or chmod +x from the command line on the mim executable inside the make it mine application bundle

I used ‘installer’, is it not functioning well these days or something? I’ll try that suggestion in a bit!!

Comment by webhead | April 1, 2008 | 8:08 pm

hmm, nope…it’s already 755

Comment by webhead | April 1, 2008 | 8:31 pm

well, apparently my simply SSHing in, and seeing it was 755 did it! odd….but I’m happy, it works now, SWEET!!

I have a 1.1.4 phone that is jailbroken with ziphone. I am trying to install vnotes(0.31, using the installer and then 0.35b5) but after installation the application won’t launch. Can anyone give me a tip?
Thanks.

Comment by rares | May 4, 2008 | 8:44 am

I got 0.31 (installer) to work after restoring my iphone, but when I upload the 0.35 through SFTP the application doesn’t start anymore.
