I’m close to releasing this version. Please test for stability and especially for text editing (renaming), etc, and leave feedback in the comments. VNotes is here. For iPhone only–unless you have a MicroMemo or other iPod recording accessory.

Missing a “Play/stop”-button as in SendSong.
When start playing a recorded note, how can I stop it?

Tested all functions - all functions worked. As previous poster mentioned - we need some way to stop listening.

Where can I find instructions on how to install this to the iPhone?

Thanks, but I just could find it:)

Working perfectly now, much smoother than before. As others have mentioned a stop button would be great (or better yet, a pause button), but for me it’s very useful as is… Thank you!

just loaded vnotes, rename no longer crashes.
i like the voicemail import, but, it
numbered them from 131-167 and 18. Anyway
to attach the name, phone number or date.
also, what path are they saved in, would like
ftp to my laptop instead of email each file.

Thanks again for the great apps, you’ll know
when i won the lottery cause you’ll get a ridiculously
large paypal donation :)

Very solid, Erica!

I agree with the others, IMO, if you add a Pause button, this app’s done. The other requests made here are certainly nice but not essential.

I emailed the amr file to my yahoo account, which is on the iphone. The email shows the paper clip that a file is attached, but I do not see file when I open the email. If i go to my yahoo account on my laptop, the file is there. I tried using files i made with Vnote and those I transferred in from Voicemail. Also tried emailing to my Gmail account. I can see the paper clip but when I open the mail, there is no file inside. If I go to my laptop and check Gmail, the .amr file is there.

Working fine Erica!
Unlike owen posted above, it works fine with the Gmail account on my iPhone (as well as on pc).

@FHanna: if you have a Windows PC, I would suggest you download WinSCP (just google for it), and connect via WiFi to your iPhone using WinSCP on the PC end, and OpenSSH on the iPhone end. OpenSSH must be switched ON on your iPhone. If you installed ‘Services.app’ (or íToggle.app, or SSH.app), you can easily switch it on (don’t forget to switch it back off when you’re done, to save the battery, ’cause SSH is quite a battery drain). You can also use UIctl: select ‘com.openssh.sshd’ and then ‘load -w’. To turn it off again, use ‘unload -w’.

FHanna: Retrieving from Voicemail simply copies the amr files from your voicemail folder into ~/Library/Recordings.

No VoiceMail, no results.

Even after updating to voicenotes V0.23 still not able to see embedded amr files in iphone yahoo mail, I changed my default iphone email from Yahoo to Gmail, now it works fine. When i send a recording, Yahoo now receives it with embedded attachement on iphone and the file is also in my gmail sent folder, embedded, on my iphone.

@WiFone, i reread your post and noticed you were using Gmail.

P.S. unrelated, not sure. This evening i lost the ability to send mail from yahoo on my iPhone, i heard the SWOOSH sending sound, but nothing in my sent folder. After emailing myself, i was indeed not sending email. I logged into my pc and cleaned out my sent folder, had 1098 pieces of mail dating back to 2004, sending mail is working again. This did not fix the voicenotes issue though, only switching to gmail for default mail fixed that.

@Erica
I think FHanna was referring to voicemail greeting, it does not work for me either. If I email it, the amr in the email plays, but i cannot hear my greeting in vnotes 0.23, it plays, but no sound.

I installed vnotes and it works great I sent on via email and that worked great too. However, what software would I use to listen to tthe note on a PC?

Comment by franmiele | December 7, 2007 | 5:04 pm

I found that Quicktime palyer will paly the amr file. Thanks
