New Erica Utility: doSafari
Erica Sadun | 8:56 pm | November 22, 2007 | Update, Utilities, Software, iPod touch, iPhone
The latest member of the Erica Utilities is doSafari. It takes one argument, the URL, and opens it in Safari. This utility is the command-line equivalent of OpenURL. Erica Utilities are now updated to 0.49.

First of all, thanks for your wonderful utilities — will definitely try this one! Second of all — I’m moderating a Polish forum on iPhone, and got recently asked whether it would be possilble to have OpenURL open a page without Safari (i.e. the way “More Info” pages are viewable internally in Installer) — is this at all feasible?

You can easily load URLs into UIWebViews but that has to be from a program….

Thanks for your great utils!
Now, combining ‘doPrompt’ and ‘doSafari’ plus some current frustrations, I am wondering if I can make my iPhone auto-login to wifi networks that have an authentication proxy (like at work).
For this, I would need to be able to do a POST instead of just asking for a URL - could doSafari be my tool?
Cheers.

mvreijn: I doubt it will work but please give it a try and let me know how it goes
